The League of Women Voters Beloit would like to comment on the
housing development projects:
1. Thank you to everyone who has worked hard on creating
sustainable housing in Beloit for everyone. The Beloit League’s
position on housing supports consistent use of city programs and
resources to upgrade quality and improve availability of Beloit’s
housing stock, both rental and owner-occupied, for an
economically diverse resident population.
2. The HOME project is a great opportunity for use of Beloit’s
housing funds.
3. We also support Ordinance No. 3815 amending the Zoning District
Map for the City of Beloit for the property located at 1642 Sixth
Street, as well as for the recommendation for the Sixth Street
Planned Unit Development project.

I want to personally add that I attended the second presentation on this
development and was impressed with the developers’ willingness to
listen to all the concerns presented. I liked their plans which from the
plans seemed to allow for green space and amenities. I understand that
this change would be difficult for neighbors.
