Fair Maps Coalition

Our Fair Maps Coalition team was able to create a “Beloit Community” map and submit it to the People's Maps Commission on June 16, 2021. Mark Fuller, member of the Fair Maps Coalition SE Region Leadership Team, provided wonderful assistance to us in creating the map through Districtr.org.  We were able to create this map designed to have the Beloit area in one state assembly district, instead of two. Dorothy Stroud worked on defining the townships adjacent to the city of Beloit, and we received excellent information on the state assembly districts in the 1990s and 2000s from Judy Robson and Alice Lamont, respectively.

Our team—Tia Johnson, Deanna Renteria, Dorothy Stroud, and Pat Zody—learned a great deal and enjoyed working on this map.

This link with take you to the “Beloit Community” map: https://districtr.org/COI/24880?portal

You will need to zoom into the Beloit area since the initial map will be for the State of Wisconsin.

Fair Maps

League President Susan Adams wants to let you know that if you missed the excellent fair maps presentation that Pat Zody organized for us, you can still see it!  Mark Fuller made a difficult subject easier to understand and has some concrete things we can do to work toward making sure our communities are drawn with our local interests in mind. Thank you, Mark!!
